Tvorog Doughnuts

Doughnuts made from soft tvorog dough with raisins or cranberries. Add the flour gradually so the dough can be shaped without becoming dense.

Ingredients

1200 g tvorog (quark or farmer cheese)
23–4 eggs
3Between 1 teaspoon and 1 tablespoon sugar
41/2 teaspoon salt
52–3 tablespoons raisins or cranberries
6Flour — enough to make a soft dough
7Baking soda
82 teaspoons vinegar
91 l refined vegetable oil for frying

How to Cook

Mash the tvorog and mix it with the eggs, sugar and salt. Add the raisins or cranberries.

Gradually add the flour along with the baking soda. Pour in the vinegar and mix thoroughly. The dough should no longer be very sticky, but should still feel soft when shaped.

Shape into small doughnuts. Heat the vegetable oil in a deep pan and fry the doughnuts in small batches, turning them until evenly golden and cooked through.

Transfer the doughnuts to paper towels to drain off excess oil.
